Beth was born in Boston. She grew up in North
Easton, a suburb of Boston, where her parents still live.
After attending Easton public schools, Beth went to Muhlenberg College
in Allentown, PA. She double-majored in English and Communications. While
there, Beth edited the magazine section of The Muhlenberg Weekly (or,
as she liked to call it, The Muhlenberg Geekly!). Beth is an Alpha Chi
Omega sister. She graduated from Muhlenberg magna cum laude in 1997.
Since then, Beth has held several jobs in publishing. She was an Editorial Assistant at Penguin Putnam and Doubleday, during which time she lived in Hoboken, NJ and later in Brooklyn, NY. Beth once insisted that she'd "never live in Stamford, CT." But she quickly changed her mind when she landed a job as an Associate Editor at Weekly Reader. Later, she became an Editor at Reader's Digest Children's Publishing. Not unlike her husband, Beth has switched careers--from publishing to librarianship. In August 2005, she received her Master of Library Science degree from Southern Connecticut State University. Beth is an Acquisitions Assistant at Yale University's Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
Beth enjoys reading, writing, and traveling. She loves yoga and is--still--attempting to enjoy golf. She likes to shop and has a great time decorating (and redecorating!) her and Van's home.
